Rockin' the Keyboard : Firefox Search

I'm on a tear. This one, though, I should have posted a few weeks ago when I first learned about it. Using Firefox, I used the search box extensively. I mean extensively. Evidently I'm not very smart because I'm constantly looking up something or another. My usual process:

  1. Grab my mouse (no, there's no double entendre there. Move along.)
  2. Click in the search box
  3. Highlight any existing search term (via click & drag or Control/Command + A)
  4. Type my new search term

Not any more.

  1. Hit Command + K (Control + K for Windows users)
  2. Type my new search term

I've halved my stepwise process and my hands never left the keyboard. Bonus.

Bonus Tip:

Once you've used Command + K to set the focus on the search box, use Command + Arrow Down and Command + Arrow Up to change the search engines. Windows users, substitute Control for Command when using these shortcuts.
