Page Introspection with XRAY
If you haven't already seen it, XRAY is worth a look. It's no Firebug, but it still may be a pretty useful tool for document introspection. And it works in IE 6+...which is nice.
And now I must digress for a related bitch. I can no longer drag bookmarklets to my Links toolbar in IE. Argh. Seems the more "secure" IE becomes, the less usable it becomes. That's one of the universal trade-offs, of course, but sometimes it seems more egregious in IE and, dammit, it's annoying. The workaround:
- Right click on the bookmarklet
- Select Add to Favorites
- Choose the Links folder
Not a difficult workaround, but one I haven't needed in the past and it annoys my that I need it now. Maybe it's just early and I'm feeling surly. Fortunately I find little use for IE anymore except in test scenarios.
