Another Stupid but Useful CSS Tip

I just read Rob Rohan's latest post and it got me thinking about a nifty little CSS stunt I pulled a few days ago. I had a client who wanted to apply a nice rollover effect to their navigation images. I liked the idea, but for whatever reason, I just didn't feel like breaking out Photoshop to create rollover images. Instead, I used CSS.

With just a couple lines of CSS I created a subtle rollover effect with no additional images. This works quite well on a flat background. If you have high contrast background imagery at play, it probably won't look as nice.

Now, what was that I heard about separating presentation from content?
