Prologue
PersonalSo here I am. I've been fighting this for a long time now. I don't know why. I really don't. Probably laziness, really. Maybe I just didn't want to feel obliged to utter the phrase "blogsphere". And now I have. I'll endeavor to never do so again.
So why am I here? Mostly I'm here because I decided I really couldn't live without a place to jot down all of those things I learn that I just know I'm going to want to see again. Notepads are too...volatile, text files are too...local (and not as easily searchable) and my memory is too...unreliable. I need this space. Since it's a public forum, I'm hoping I'll have something to say that someone wants to read, but I guess we'll just have to see how that goes, won't we?
Next question. MuseTracks, huh? First of all, you should know that in my head, it's pronounced MooseTracks. So why didn't I just call it "MooseTracks"? I don't know. It seemed like a good idea at the time. A little etymology:
- These are, of course, my musings so it kind of made sense on that level.
- My niece's favorite ice cream is Moosetracks. Or at least it used to be when she was little. She's all grown up now having recently turned three. Seriously.
- Everyone else is doing that cute, word-bending thing, why can't I?
- It was the best I could come up with on short notice. What can I say? I started this blog on a lark and the whole thing snowballed...fast. From secret desire to reluctant acceptance to first post in under an hour. I'm nothing if not decisive.
So here I am (See what I just did there?).
